SEVEN WAYS TO SAY YOU ENJOYED YOURSELF

LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE

¡Hola amigos!

Hey, Julio here! ¿Qué tal va todo?

So, Valentine’s Day is behind us for another year. But now comes the fun part — letting your media naranja (your “other half,” as we say in Spanish) know how much you enjoyed your night out! Of course, you can also use these phrases with anyone — a friend, a colleague, your boss, or someone who invited you to dinner. It’s always nice to show appreciation.

Ready? Set? Let’s go!

To begin, here are a couple of great ways to start your sentence:

CHEAT SHEET

Muchas gracias por invitarme… – Thanks so much for inviting me out.
Muchas gracias por aceptar mi invitación… – Thank you for accepting my invitation.

And here are seven natural and friendly ways to follow up — or use on their own:

Fue una velada / noche hermosa… – It was a lovely evening.
La pasé muy bien contigo… – I had a really good time with you.
Me divertí mucho… – I really enjoyed myself.
No sé tú, pero yo la pasé genial… – I don’t know about you, but I had a great time.
¡Deberíamos hacer esto más seguido!… – We should do this more often.

And there you have it — seven simple but powerful ways to let someone know how much you enjoyed their company.

Remember, as I always say: use it or lose it! Practice these expressions as often as you can. This is where the textbook ends and real Spanish begins.

Next time, to complement the sentence starters we looked at a couple of weeks ago, I’ll share some great ways to end your phrases naturally and confidently.

I’d love to hear your comments, suggestions, or ideas for future lessons.

¡Mucha suerte y hasta la próxima!
